How the Collaborative Process Works

Step 1: Let’s book a no-obligation meeting
This is an opportunity for us to connect and see if I’m the right fit for your wedding ceremony.

Step 2: Sign Agreement & Date Confirmation
Secure your special ceremony date by signing our agreement and sending your deposit.

Step 3: Submit your questionnaire
Take some time for self-reflection and fill out a thoughtful questionnaire. Each partner completes this separately, helping me craft a ceremony that elevates your love story.

Step 4: Drafting your wedding ceremony
I begin creating your love story. This is where I weave together a personal ceremony that reflects you and your partner’s journey—filled with the stories you’ve shared with me, poem selection, and a ritual to celebrate your union.

Step 5: Time for your input
I’ll share the initial draft of your ceremony for your review. Together, we’ll refine it with edits and revisions to ensure it truly resonates with you.

Final Step: Ceremony launch!
There are no surprises—except for your guests, who will be captivated by your love story on your special day. The final ceremony incorporates all the required legal elements for the Province of British Columbia.

Compass Ceremonies gratefully acknowledges that the land on which we gather is the traditional territory of the Ktunaxa, the Sinixt, and the Syilx peoples.

Travel & Mileage

Based in Nelson, BC, I happily travel throughout the Kootenays and beyond to celebrate your wedding wherever your story unfolds.

Travel within 40 km of Nelson is included in all ceremony packages. Beyond 40km, but within the Kootenays, the mileage fee is .73¢ per km.

For weddings farther afield, I’ll provide a simple travel quote that reflects time, distance, ferries or accommodation when required – so you’ll always know the full investment before booking.
